THEher cry of love “Adrianaaaa!” to the film girlfriend on the set of Rocky has remained in history and in memory. But in real life years ago the 76-year-old Sylvester Stallone he wanted to show his dedication to his third wife Jennifer Flavin in an even more incisive way, getting his face tattooed on his shoulder. But even that love wasn’t all that indelible. A few days ago the actor had the tattoo with his wife’s face overwritten the muzzle of Butkus. The his beloved dog of the bullstiff breed, who also appeared in the films of Rocky (Birillo in the Italian version).
Sylvester Stallone, love ended with his wife?
The suspicion that between Stallone and Flavin (who is 22 years younger than her husband) relations were no longer idyllic had already arisen. A few days ago the former model posted on Instagram the photo of a hug between her and her three daughters (Sophia, 25, Sistine, 24, and Scarlet, 20): “These girls are my priority, nothing else matters . The four of us forever », she wrote to comment on the image. No mention of her husband, married in 1997.
Via the tattoo dedicated to the wife: better the dog
A circumstance that, together with Stallone’s decision to swap the tattoo of his wife’s face with that of a dog, suggests that a separation may be imminent. A spokesman for the actor downplayed, explaining that Stallone «wanted to refresh his wife Jennifer’s image. The result, however, was not satisfactory, and unfortunately there was no way to correct it. So, he decided to cover the original image with a tattoo of Butkus, his dog in the movie Rocky ». The spokesperson therefore avoided answering questions about a possible couple crisis, limiting himself to mentioning that “Stallone loves his family, with whom he is filming a reality show that will air on Paramount +“.
The muzzle of Butkus
The change of tattoo, however, appears a little too sudden to be really an attempt to cover up an error: on August 7, in a post Instagram on his profileStallone was indeed still showing the colorful tattoo with Jennifer’s face; only 10 days later, on August 16, the tattoo artist Zach Perez instead shared the images that show him at work on the actor’s shoulder, and therefore the final result: Butkus’ muzzle.
Rocky’s love for dog
That Stallone was particularly fond of that dog is a known story: Butkus, who played the part of Rocky’s dog in the first film in the series, he was the actor’s four-legged friend even in real life. But, said the same actor in an Instagram post a few years ago, “it was 1971 and Butkus and I were both thin and hungry, and we lived in a dump above a subway station “. And in that lean period “there wasn’t much to do but spend time with each other. Since I never went out I relied on his company ». Years later, “when things got even worse, I had to sell it for $ 40 in front of a 7-Eleven store because I couldn’t afford the food.” Shortly after “a miracle of the present day: I sold the script of Rocky and I was able to buy back Butkus … But the new owner knew I was desperate and asked me for $ 15,000 to give it back. But he was worth every penny! ».
Love with Jennifer Flavin
Even his wife Jennifer Flavin, however, things were difficult at first. Stallone, who earlier he had already been married to Sasha Czack (until 1985) and Brigitte Nielsen (until 1987), he met her in a Beverly Hills restaurant, and the two began dating. At one point, however, the actor left her through a letter (which she would later describe as “sloppy”) sent to her by an express courier. The reason was that model Janice Dickinson had revealed to him that he was the father of her child. But when the DNA test revealed that he wasn’t really the father, Stallone – after a brief flirtation with actress Angie Everhart – returned to Flavin, with whom he married in 1997.
