Sylvana Simons finds it inappropriate that Frans Klein takes on a lucrative job at John de Mol’s Talpa while investigating abuses at the NPO. “That’s how they hop on.”
Frans Klein has played the Kim Jong-un of public broadcasting for years, but the NPO bobo is currently on non-active because of his questionable role in the scandal surrounding De Wereld Draait Door. It seems that his structural looking away from a diseased work culture has unnecessarily resulted in many victims.
Ears flapping
Although it is not for nothing that Frans is currently sitting at home on the couch waiting for the investigation into the working atmosphere at the NPO, he is now casually taking on a lucrative job as a Talpa bobo.
Politician Sylvana Simons, who has worked in television for years, thinks this is inappropriate. She says on the talk show Renze that she has trouble with this television transfer. “This is actually… I actually quite bang my ears. Precisely also Talpa, where there has been so much to do.”
Nice hopping
The fact that Frans is now just hopping on doesn’t go down the wrong way with Sylvana. “There are still many investigations into this person and his achievements in the TV world, but you are always welcome somewhere. And I find that sometimes difficult to digest.”
She continues: “There has been a lot of shouting about it in recent years cancel culture, but I haven’t seen it yet. I see people who just hop to another place, another place of power and I find that very difficult.”
‘Another such case’
It is not meant against Frans personally, Sylvana emphasizes. “It’s not about this person, it’s no matter of person, but we’re just talking about Kevin Spacey, like, if he’s innocent, are you going to carry it on forever? But this is another case.”
She continues: “Terrible things have happened, this gentleman was responsible for that and he will now work for a company where violent things have also happened and for which no one takes responsibility. I like that.”
What does Humberto think?
The other guests at the table keep quiet, but Humberto Tan agrees with Sylvana’s account. He also finds it a bit questionable. “Talpa would be sensitive, given the past indeed.”
