“She came close to me, our noses almost touched. Before I knew it I got a headbutt and passed out,” says Sylvana Geeve (39) from Den Bosch. She was assaulted by two women at the beginning of this month and suffered a severe concussion and a broken nose. The assault may have been filmed. “That would be evidence that the police cannot find now.”
The assault happened on the night of Friday 6 to Saturday 7 October in the center of Den Bosch. “It was about one o’clock and I left Café De Palm with my friend. Behind us were two women of about twenty years old. They were out to harass, because they were filming us with their phone. When we If we walked to the left, they did the same and if we turned right they did the same.”
“This feels very unfair and should not just happen.”
Sylvana was fed up with this behavior and asked to stop filming. “I remember that I then got a big mouth back and that one of the two came very close to me. In the meantime, my friend spoke to the other woman about her behavior. When he turned around, I was lying unconscious on the floor and sitting covered in blood.” Sylvana suffered a concussion and several scars.
Sylvana’s boyfriend took care of her first and did not go after the women. “Later we went looking in a police car, but the women had already disappeared.”
“Perhaps images of the abuse are now circulating on the internet.”
Sylvana reported the incident to the police and they started an investigation. Camera images in the center of Den Bosch were viewed, but according to the police there was no usable image. Because no other evidence could be found, the investigation was stopped. “This feels very unfair. It can’t be that this can just happen, can it?”, Sylvana says indignantly.
Sylvana makes frantic attempts to find evidence herself. She thinks the abuse was filmed by the women. “In any case, they filmed us walking down the street. Perhaps the abuse is also recorded and these images are now circulating on the internet or in groups of friends.”
Although the police are no longer actively investigating, they are still looking for witnesses. “All information, tips and/or camera images remain welcome. They can share them with us via 0900-8844 or anonymously via 0800-7000,” said a spokesperson.
