American Sydney McLaughlin ran a new world record in the 400-meter genuine Eugene.

McLaughlin, 22, clocked a soaring time of 51.41. The previous world record was McLaughlin’s own score of 51.46 for the Tokyo Olympics.

– I just wanted a good race. I knew anything was possible. I’m just really grateful, McLaughlin said with a wide smile on his face To NBC.

The Eugene Track is one of McLaughlin’s favorites.

– It feels like something amazing happens here every time I come here, the runner rejoiced.

The World Championships in Athletics will be competing in Eugene starting July 15th, so McLaughlin will be able to get new record times on his track again.
