Sybe sees children’s wish (for the time being) splashing apart, but does not give up: “In Belgium I am almost obliged to circumvent rules”

It is now seven months ago that single wish dad Sybe Vandemeulebroucke (30) from Kuurne saw his child wish go up in smoke. He had already found an egg cell, and a surrogate mother, but he came across a njet at the ethics committee of UZ Gent. Singles, whether men or women, cannot have a child through a surrogate mother. “I know that by ‘lying’ about a possible relationship I increase my chances, but I don’t want to do that.”
