Syb van der Ploeg guest at new summer concert in Emmen ‘with a touch of Steigerpop’

Singer Syb van der Ploeg will perform this summer during the Harbor Club XL concert in holiday park Parc Sandur in Emmen. This has been announced by organizer Marcel Meijer of the Harbor Club. The open-air concert will be held on Saturday 27 August in the harbor of the holiday park, in collaboration with co-organizer Boelo Klein Ikkink.

Meijer is happy that singer-songwriter Van der Ploeg – known as the singer of De Kast, with whom he hit the hit In no time scored – if special guest is willing to come to Emmen. “Of course he has a beautiful voice that reverberates over the water. That will be fantastic”, the organizer looks ahead. Besides Van der Ploeg, several musicians have been invited. “The North Netherlands Youth Orchestra is the supporting orchestra. In addition, the Kannegieter sisters and the soprano sisters Lunedì come from Sleen,” says Meijer.

According to the organizer, it will be a ‘prom-like’ concert (open air concert, ed.), where guests can enjoy performances by various artists. “In boats on the Grote Rietplas, visitors can listen to performances by all kinds of artists, with a variation between classical music and pop music, and where the orchestra supports the artists.” And whether you come by boat or not, it doesn’t matter according to Meijer. “The concert is accessible to both boat enthusiasts and guests who do not have a boat. You can also sit on the deck or on the shore.”

It is expected that a few hundred people will come. And not only that. “Saturday 27 August is also the last day of the summer holidays, so we’re going to leave the holiday with a bang,” says Meijer. The tickets are expected to go on sale next month and, according to the organizer, they are already in high demand. “It will be made clear on the Harbor Club Facebook page when the sale will start.”
