A 39-year-old threatened and pursued people in Fredersdorf-Süd (Märkisch-Oderland district) with a sword.
A witness alerted the police on Tuesday morning because the man was walking through Martin-Luther-Strasse with a sword, the police said on Wednesday. The 39-year-old therefore threatened a resident and pursued another resident.
Police caught the man and took him to the ground. According to the information, no one was injured. Two knives were found on the man along with a long sword.
Since the 39-year-old was in an exceptional psychological situation, according to the police, he was taken to a hospital by rescue workers under police escort. He is being investigated on charges of threatening him.
