Switch trick at Tilburg Fair: replaced children’s attraction with Power Surge

The German attraction Zauber der Phantasie is no longer at the Tilburg Kermis. The children’s attraction did not pass the inspection and stood still for five days at the Besterdring. On Wednesday night, the German cars made way for the Power Surge. The fact that an attraction leaves during the fair is ‘extremely rare’ according to the municipality.

Zauber der Phantasie was inspected just before the start of the Tilburg Kermis, but did not meet the Dutch requirements. “It was not possible to make the necessary adjustments during the fair,” says a municipal spokeswoman. The children’s tow track left the lights on, but remained closed.

“Glad we found a replacement attraction.”

The municipality therefore went in search of a suitable replacement attraction. “Fortunately, we have a large network and are pleased that we have been able to find something. And also something that actually fits in that place in terms of dimensions and construction.” Zauber der Phantasie was not a very big attraction in terms of surface area.

The German children’s attraction was demolished on Wednesday night and the construction of the Power Surge started around five o’clock in the morning. “It was still in Uden a few days ago and had the inspection in order. They wanted to be on the fairground ribbon for a few more days and help us a little with that,” explains the municipal spokeswoman.

On Thursday afternoon, the first fair visitors were able to test their stomach in the Power Surge. A spirited attraction that spins high and flips several times.

“Such a change during the fair is very rare.”

The municipality is happy that the place has been filled. “I can’t remember ever having a change during the fair, it’s really very rare.” According to the spokeswoman, a last-minute cancellation or departing attraction sometimes occurs during construction, but really never during the fair.
