Swiss couple killed on mountain during avalanche | Abroad

The 34-year-old man and 22-year-old woman have not been heard from since Friday afternoon, the Graubünden police reported on Sunday. The couple had left a mountain hut on Friday morning to ski the almost 3,000 meter high Piz Tomül. Other ski tourers would have seen the duo at the top around noon.

Because family members still had no news on Saturday afternoon, the police were informed. The two were located in an avalanche cone at an altitude of 2,050 meters in the evening, but it was too late to help them. The police and the public prosecutor have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
