Unique opportunity! Swimming on a construction site is probably only possible in Zoetermeer. For the last time, Zoetermeer residents can splash in one of the three outdoor pools at the Sweet Lake Wellness construction site in the Van Tuyllpark this summer.

The planning is that the toddler, mirror and fountain pool will open from Monday 19 June. These are the only outdoor pools we currently have in Zoetermeer.
Delivery of new swimming pool delayed
Actually, we were allowed to swim for the first time this summer in the new swimming pool on the Van der Hagenstraat. But unfortunately the delivery has been postponed. Due to material problems, increased prices and a bankrupt subcontractor (source A.D. Zoetermeer) the construction period will take longer and the opening has now been postponed to spring 2024.
New wellness complex
The municipality has made an agreement with the newly built Sweet Lake Wellness that their three outdoor pools must be open to Zoetermeer residents in the summer. Initially, with the opening of the new swimming pool, this would no longer be necessary this summer. But due to the later delivery, we can only swim at a construction site.

Swimming with a construction helmet on, instead of a swimming cap
The entrance for swimmers will be at the entrance on Van der Hagenstraat. Via a landscaped path you walk past the construction site towards the baths. There are no construction works at the swimming area, so you can sunbathe and swim safely (a construction helmet is not necessary!). You can put your towel or place a chair on the concrete parts around the baths. There are also mobile toilets and shower cabins, first aid and a cash register. A ticket costs 6 euros per person, the three outdoor pools are open in good weather.
