After a six-month break, breaststroke world record holder Adam Peaty celebrated his comeback on Saturday (October 7th, 2023). The multiple Olympic champion and world champion came third at the Swimming World Cup in Berlin.
In the 50 meter breaststroke, Peaty had to admit defeat to world champion Qin Haiyang (China/26.29) and the Dutchman Arno Kamminga (26.97) with 26.98 seconds. Peaty, who has won three Olympic gold medals and eight World Championship gold medals and holds the world records in the 50 and 100 meter breaststroke, recently missed the World Championships due to mental problems, among other things.
