Sweltering Super Bowl ahead

The 56th edition of the Super Bowl will indeed be a hot affair on Sunday. Earlier this week, the National Weather Service (NWS) issued a weather warning. Weer.nl reports that it can reach 30 degrees on Sunday afternoon.

The final of the American football league NFL in Los Angeles is between the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals.

With 30 degrees at the start of the most important sporting event in the United States, this edition of the Super Bowl will be the warmest in history. The match was played twice at a temperature of 27.7 degrees. That was in 1973 and 2003.

Warmest February Day

At 30 degrees, it won’t be the warmest February day ever reported in Los Angeles. On February 20, 1995, a record high temperature of 35 degrees was recorded for February. Normally around this time of year it is about 19 degrees in the city.

The heat will not be noticeable in the stadium. The stadium is covered and the sides are open so that the temperature inside can be regulated.
