– I still haven’t even realized that I was in Eurovision. It feels like it was a dream, Cornelia Jakobs tells Iltalehte.

The interview will be done remotely, as the Swedish singer will be in Oslo on the same day, where he will perform later in the evening. Behind the singer, you can see a couple of posters featuring the late rock star David Bowie.

Almost four months have passed since the Swedish star represented his home country in the iconic singing competition with a song Hold Me Closer. He didn’t go home with the win, but that hasn’t bothered him.

– When I came off the stage after my final performance, I started to cry. I had done everything with my heart and was present in the moment. I don’t want to stress all my life, but live in the moment, he reflects.

Cornelia confused Eurovision with her own behavior in May.

At the press conference organized after the second semi-final, the order of appearance in the final was drawn.

The Swedish singer jumped to host the event Mario Acampan lap and tried to get him to pick a lottery ticket for her. As Acampa refused the request, Cornelia placed her finger like a gun against the host’s temple.

The seizure attracted widespread attention and disapproval on social media.

What does the singer think about what happened now?

– It was a happy jump. I wanted to jump and he (Acampa) took the booth from me, Cornelia laughs.

– I didn’t follow how people reacted to it. I didn’t start overanalyzing the situation, because then you sink deep into your own thoughts.

Light in the midst of darkness

Cornelia will release a new song in October Rise. The song tells about the feeling of hope that a person feels after being in despair and darkness for a long time.

– A few years ago I suffered from exhaustion and depression. In the song, I describe the feelings when I started to feel a little better.

The singer admits to being a workaholic. His biggest challenge at the moment is finding a balance between career and free time.

– Music is in my heart, it goes with me all the time. I’m going to focus on my own mental health because I want to do this job for the rest of my life.
