Sweden’s Sepp Straka wins his first PGA title at the Honda Classic

The Swedish Sepp Straka managed to win the Honda Classic golf title today on the last day of the tournament by signing a card of 66 strokes (-4) and adding a total of 270 at 10 under par from the field of Florida (USA).

The 50th edition of The Honda Classic golf kept the excitement of the champion until the last moment. The final round began with the American Daniel Berger in the lead with a five-shot advantage, but his worst performance of the week, with four bogeis and another double for only two birdies, dropped him to fourth place.

Straka took advantage of this circumstance, He maintained the good level of play shown in the previous rounds and finished the fourth round with 66 strokes. despite failing on holes 1 and 8, a fact he made up for by making six birdies that gave him victory in the rain at the PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens.

The Swede, who climbed to 14th place in the FedExCup, He won his first professional title today. and with it, the ticket for the Augusta Masters to be held in April.

Close to getting it he was Irish Shane Lowry, one stroke behind the leader, who completed the last 18 holes without errors and with birdies at 1, 4 and 11.

In third position, with eight under par and two behind the winner, the American finished Kurt Kitayama, who started the first round with the provisional lead against prognosis and that, although he failed to win, he was able to stay at the top of the table.
