Sweden will not get NHL players in the tournament: “With a miraculous risk”

Tre Kronor did not stamp as many as eight race passes during the World Cup.

Head coach Johan Garpenlöv wanted to leave room for new NHL reinforcements. The idea was good in itself, but when it didn’t work.

There are no newcomers to Tre Kronor this spring. Western neighbor NHL stars have declined a World Cup invitation.

The most recent vacation before the race was chosen Marcus Johansson, Jonas Brodin, Johan Larsson and Joel Eriksson Ek.

Garpenlöv starts to go finger in the mouth. Roster has 17 field players and two goalkeepers.

The head coach stamped the two-player race passes on Sunday afternoon. They are not dreamed NHL superstars but Swedish main league EHT level strikers Oskar Lang and Nils Åman.

– Apparently there’s a freeze waiting for confirmations. It’s time to leave with a narrow roster when there are games on consecutive days and a close pace of matches, Annina Rajahuhta, Iltalehti’s hockey expert and two-time Olympic medalist, wonders.

– The players are in top condition, of course, but it will be a burden if you play on three courts. May cause injury.

Sweden started their tournament on Saturday morning with a game against Austria. The victory came at the end of a rather wet performance with 3-1 goals.

Tre Kronor’s World Cup contract continued on Sunday Kari Jalosen against the Czech Republic.
