Sweating: tropical temperatures up to 35 degrees in the coming days | Inland

Thursday will also be a sunny summer day, according to Weeronline. The temperature rises to 22 to 26 degrees. Only the north has to do with some cloud fields in the morning that gradually disappear.

From Friday the wind will turn to the south and it will be tropical warm. In the middle it will be 27 to 29 degrees and also in the north the maximum temperature is well above 25 degrees. Temperatures above 30 degrees are expected in the south.

Saturday will be oppressively warm with lots of sunshine. In the north and northwest it will be a maximum of 25 degrees and in the southeast there are even peaks to 33 to 35 degrees.

On Sunday it will cool down a bit to about 20 to 24 degrees. In the southeast it can still be more than 25 degrees. In addition to sun, there is a chance of more clouds and heavy showers.

sun power

On Friday and Saturday, sun strength 7 will be reached in many places and in the center and south of the country this can even rise to strength 8. These “exceptionally high values” are not often found in the Netherlands, according to the weather site.

This combination of bright sun and heat increases the chance of heat stroke, which is reason for Weeronline to warn. At these values, sensitive skin can burn within fifteen minutes. The sun is strongest between 12.00 and 15.00, so Weeronline advises to avoid the sun as much as possible.

The sun shines brightest around the longest day of the year, June 21. The strength is mainly dependent on the position of the sun, the thickness of the ozone layer and the cloud cover that is lower in the atmosphere. “Such as veil clouds at a height of 10 kilometers or cumulus clouds at a height of 1 kilometer,” explains a spokeswoman for Weeronline. “There the clouds reflect the radiation.” Sand and water also reflect UV light, making sunburn on the beach or on a boat just that little bit faster.

Smog Warning

The high temperature and the accumulation of air pollution create summer smog on sunny and warm days, Weeronline warns. People who are sensitive to smog are therefore advised to stay indoors as much as possible on Friday and Saturday in the afternoon and early evening and to avoid strenuous physical exertion.

Possible showers will wash the air clean again from Sunday. The wind is also blowing from the northwest and cleaner air flows in.
