The driver of a so-called fat bike was seriously injured on Saturday evening after he came into contact with a car on Sint Lambertusstraat in Budel-Schoot. Witnesses reported that the fat biker was drifting on the road before the accident.
The car with which the fat biker collided would have driven down the street at low speed. Nevertheless, the fat biker crashed heavily. The situation was so serious that an air ambulance was called. The victim was stabilized and rushed to hospital in Tilburg by ambulance.
Alcohol
The driver of the fat bike turned out to be under the influence of alcohol, although it would not be a high alcohol content. The driver of the car has been arrested. It is being investigated whether he had also drunk alcohol.
