Swarovski appoints David Wielemans as Chief Financial Officer from April. Wielemans will also become a new member of Swarovski’s Executive Committee, reporting to Managing Director Alexis Nasard.
Wielemans replaces current interim CFO Frederik Westring, who will leave Swarovski at the end of June to pursue other activities. The appointment is another step in the company’s transformation towards luxury, Swarovski announced on Tuesday.
Wielemans has extensive work experience in the luxury and retail sectors and expertise in finance. He most recently served as Co-CFO for the EssilorLuxottica Group and as Group CFO for Essilor International.
“I am pleased to announce the appointment of this well educated and experienced leader,” CEO Alexis Nasard said in the statement. Wielemans’ extensive work experience fits into the luxury strategy of Luxignite by Swarovski.
