Up until a few days ago, FC Bayern still had a major goalkeeping problem, but if you believe Sven Ulreich, this will soon be solved with a transfer. The current number one now indirectly revealed the upcoming commitment of Daniel Peretz, who was last heavily traded.
Because Manuel Neuer is not yet fit again after his serious leg injury, Sven Ulreich is currently guarding the goal. But behind the other substitute keeper there is no longer a suitable backup goalkeeper. Because Alexander Nübel (VfB Stuttgart) and young hopeful Johannes Schenk (Preußen Münster) were awarded, there is a gap. More precisely: gaped!
Because, as Ulreich indirectly confirmed in an interview after FC Bayern’s 4-0 win at the start of the Bundesliga in the mixed zone, FC Bayern seems to be signing Daniel Peretz from Maccabi Tel Aviv shortly. In the past few days, rumors have been pointing to this solution as transition number two. Now it’s almost official.
“I think we made a good catch there. He’s still a young goalkeeper and can then learn more in training with us,” said Ulreich when asked about Peretz, clearly admitting that the Munich team had lost the game 23-year-old Israeli to Säbener Straße.
“Bild”, “Sky” and the Israeli TV station “Sport5” had previously reported that the FCB bosses agreed with Peretz.
According to various reports, final negotiations with Maccabi Tel Aviv are still pending, but if Ulreich believes they could already be over.
How much does Peretz cost FC Bayern?
In view of the goalkeeper’s market value, “Bild” assumed a transfer fee of around four million euros. Transfer reporter Luca Bendoni wrote from 5.5 to 6 million euros including bonus payments. There should be more information about the specific amounts shortly.
Unlike the most recently traded goalkeepers, Daniel Peretz is still unknown to many fans. Nevertheless, the 1.90 meter tall goalkeeper fulfills the latest profile of the Munich squad planner: At 23 years old, he is young and capable of development.
At the side of Neuer and Ulreich, Peretz will gain valuable experience in order to eventually move into the front row himself.
