Sven Kockelmann was no longer spotted in a white wool sweater after a fuss

After a mini fuss about his white woolen sweater, Sven Kockelmann has no longer been spotted wearing that item of clothing. The criticism was devastating: “He is becoming more and more like Mart Smeets!”

Journalists who appear on television are expected to look presentable, but very different rules apply to radio. It’s fine to wear what you find on the floor next to your bed in the morning. And while almost every radio program nowadays has webcams running, for some fun clips on social media.

Cable pattern

And in this way, Sven Kockelmann was caught last Monday wearing a very casual item of clothing. The man who always wears a very formal jacket in Op1 – sometimes with, sometimes without a tie – then suddenly sat behind the microphone wearing a white woolen sweater. And not just any sweater, a cable-knit sweater.

The influential opinion influencer MiesBee, who has a keen eye for fashion, was shocked and immediately denounced this on her channel. “Sven’s sweater should be a fuss.”

Mini fuss

It hasn’t really become a fuss, but in fact every tweet from this opinion influencer is a mini fuss in itself. Many of her followers are scared to death by the sweater. “He’s starting to look more and more like Mart Smeets,” says Miss Annie.

Peter doesn’t think this is possible. “Sven’s sweaty protest against that viewing camera. Microphone is enough for Sven.”

Lammy doesn’t understand how exactly that works at Sven’s house. “Doesn’t he have a wife who says something about this?”

Yurt without stick

The reviews are really scathing. “1980 just called and wanted the jersey back,” says a mean gentleman, one Vincenzo.

Pim just doesn’t think it looks good. “That’s a yurt without a stick.”

And Detty sums it up: “It’s really not possible.”

Other colors

Sven has been spotted in many sweaters since that broadcast, but no longer in that cable-knit one. Perhaps someone told him that that sweater does not really meet the expectations of a professional appearance. Now we see it in more subdued colors; burgundy red, dark blue, camel.

And so Sven also meets his own expectations. “What’s wrong with presenting yourself neatly?” he said last year Het Parool.
