SV Tynaarlo 75 years old: ‘Everyone in the village supports the association’

Sports Association Tynaarlo has been around for 76 years, but a book will still be published in honor of the 75th anniversary. In the book Growing & Blooming the history of SV Tynaarlo is highlighted.

SV Tynaarlo is a so-called omni association and, in addition to football, also offers gymnastics, gymnastics, toddler dance, kids dance, volleyball, walking and, in the past, handball. “So the whole village can play sports up to and including,” jokes chairman Trijnie Faber. “Everyone here in the village carries the association.”

The idea for a book came from Faber after last year’s jubilee celebrations. “I thought: if you have been around for 75 years, then you have to get to work. Because all those stories, all those anecdotes and all the people who have been involved in the creation and further development of the association, they are not there at a certain point more. And that is a great shame.”

Geert-Jan Darwinkel had the honor of compiling the book and found the name of the sports park, De Spil, characteristic of the association. “It is the pivot of the village and of course also an old football term, ‘the stopperspil’ (spindle that constantly guards the center front of the opponent and serves as a third back player, ed.).
