SV Sandhausen sign Richard Meier and Yassin Ben Balla

Next additions to the relegated

SV Sandhausen wrapped up its next two newcomers for the upcoming third division season on Tuesday. As the relegated from the 2nd division announced, attacker Richard Meier (19) and defensive player Yassin Ben Balla (27) should help to make the immediate return to the German lower house.

Meier was most recently active for 1. FC Magdeburg II in the Saxony-Anhalt Association League and for the club’s U19s in the A-Junior Bundesliga North/Northeast, convincing in 2022/23 with a total of 34 goals in 37 competitive games. Ben Balla comes from SV Darmstadt 98, but was only on the pitch for 150 minutes in 15 matches for the “Lilien”.

Sports director Matthias Imhof welcomed Meier as a “highly talented striker who also knows where the goal is in the third division.” Meier was also “a striker for the future of SVS”. In Ben Balla, the manager sees the player type of “aggressive leader”. Imhof continues: “Yassin will keep our offensive back free.”
