After four competitive defeats in a row without their own goal, second division team SV Sandhausen has parted ways with coach Alois Schwartz. The club confirmed the end of the cooperation on Sunday evening a few hours after the 0: 3 against Karlsruher SC. His assistant coach Dimitrios Moutas also has to go. There is no interim solution yet.

Update February 20, 12:33 p.m.: One day after Schwartz was released, Sandhausen found a new coach, according to the “dpa”. The successor will be presented at a press conference this Monday at 3:00 p.m.

“I’m personally very sorry. We tried everything and stuck with Alois for a long time,” said President Jürgen Machmeier. “After two staid appearances against Düsseldorf and Karlsruhe, we felt compelled to react.”

The 55-year-old Schwartz took over the SVS for the second time in September 2021 and led to the league. This season, under his stewardship, the bottom team has won five and drawn four in 21 league games. In the DFB Cup, the SVS failed in the round of 16 at last year’s finalists SC Freiburg (0:2).
