TV star Suzanne von Borsody (65) in the midst of a family fiasco! Her role in the new ZDF two-parter, which is almost a Greek tragedy, is tailored to Borsody: Constanze, a grande dame with a strong character and 100 facets.
In “Sweet Frenzy” (Sunday, October 16th and Monday, October 17th, 8:15 p.m.) she plays the ex-wife of the rich distiller Karl Preus, who pursues all temptations with his charm. To the detriment of the ladies in his family. After his death, a struggle for power, inheritance, money and love ensues. The focus is also on Constanze, who is now married to Preus’ best friend, a lawyer, and holds shares in the distillery.
An exciting story rages about family secrets, inheritance, drug and alcohol addiction, and an illegitimate child suddenly appears.
“Personally, I am not open to blackmail. If I were in such a situation in real life, I would pull myself out beforehand, ”says Borsody to BILD.
Her ingenious opponents in the film: Ricarda, the alcoholic widow of Preus (Désirée Nosbusch) and ex-sister-in-law Julia (Leslie Malton).
Suzanne von Borsody to BILD: “Everyone in the Preus family is so incredibly selfish. And somehow everyone is hurt. I couldn’t stand these lies and secrets in the long run. I find that terribly exhausting.”
She would save her soul, says Borsody, and forego the inheritance.
The shooting took place in the lowlands of Grappa (Italy), in the town of Bassano del Grappa (Veneto), from April to May 2021.
Borsody told BILD that the time was an enrichment – despite or precisely because of the corona rules that were still strict at the time.
“Even before we started shooting, we had the opportunity to all be together in a hotel on site. We had reading rehearsals, costume and make-up rehearsals together and time to get to know each other as a ‘family’. A stroke of luck. Corona and the rules passed us by.”
