Suzanne had to get off the plane because of smoke in the cockpit

Suzanne had just boarded a plane at Eindhoven Airport when a message sounded from the cockpit. “Something’s going on. You have to leave your luggage and get off the plane.” There appeared to be smoke in the cockpit. Together with all the other passengers, Suzanne Lesquillier had to get off the plane before departure, she tells Omroep Brabant.

Because she had to leave the luggage behind, she expected that they would soon leave for her parents in Alicante. But when she came out, there were three fire trucks there. There was no panic. “I have not smelled the smoke myself. It went slowly because the average age of the passengers is quite high.”

Medicines
The luggage was taken off the plane for them, some passengers needed medication which they had put in their hand luggage. From that moment on, Suzanne and her fellow passengers had to wait.

There must be another plane with which she can still fly to Alicante. “People are getting impatient now.”

Suzanne is at least three hours later at her destination. “Fortunately, we have a rental car so there is no one waiting for us. I did ask if my mother would like to do some shopping.”

The evacuation of the aircraft has no consequences for other air traffic, Eindhoven Airport reports.
