A loud noise brought a family in the Treptow-Köpenick district of Berlin out of their house around midnight. An SUV had crashed into her front yard. Even residents of adjacent properties heard the loud bang.
The sturdy SUV cleared more than 40 feet of a massive steel fence and also pushed aside the occupants’ Nissan Micra parked in the garage driveway.
The small car was damaged in the rear area and moved. The garden fence – only scrap.
It is unclear why the SUV driver on Späthstraße lost control of his vehicle after a sharp left turn (30 km/h).
Immediate witnesses and first responders were questioned by police. The exact circumstances of the accident are now being determined. The fire brigade treated the driver of the SUV in an ambulance and cleared the scene of the accident.
The property owner and a woman also came to the scene of the accident. At first they could hardly understand what had happened.
