Sustainable investments in the HanseBelt region awarded

“I’m really looking forward to the many opportunities that are now awaiting me and my team,” says Max Haber. Haber represented his team alone in the school competition because his other two team members dropped out at short notice. The idea of ”Team Blue” at the Ernestinenschule: to develop a business plan for a special type of 3D printer that can “print” entire houses and thus convince investors.

A total of five teams, each with three to six students, competed against each other on Thursday, March 30th. The Yellow and Blue teams from the Ernestinenschule and the Yellow, Blue and Green teams from the Hanseschule / ZBC. They worked together with students from the school association ZBV from Vordingborg, Denmark.

The students presented their ideas and investment plans in 20-minute presentations in English. A five-person jury then decided on the best team. The idea of Max Haber’s Team Blue from the Ernestinenschule was particularly convincing. “It was impressive to see the confidence with which Max Haber presented his team’s idea – because he was alone and represented his team members excellently. The quality of the lecture and the interaction with the audience were very convincing.”

All participating students received a certificate of participation and voucher cards for their outstanding achievements and teamwork.
The jury consisted of representatives from the Technical University of Lübeck, as well as representatives from politics, business and the media. Among them Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Frank Schwartze, Vice President for Research and International Affairs at TH Lübeck; Carsten Bliddal, Royal Danish Honorary Consul and owner of Scanbo Möbel; dr phil. Astrid Bednarski, CEO of HanseBelt eV, Marlene von Zamory, consultant to the main management IHK Lübeck and Jan Wulf, deputy editor-in-chief of Lübecker Nachrichten.

“We are very proud of the young people. They have all shown that they are up to this difficult task. In addition, presenting yourself in front of such a large audience and also in English as a foreign language takes courage and self-confidence,” says Gerard Williams, board member of the Lions Club Lübeck-Holstentor. “We would also like to say a special thank you to the Business Angels. They supported the teams with their knowledge and experience,” adds Williams.
