Sustainable Energy organization fears wave of bankruptcy due to abolition of green energy certificates

According to the Organization for Sustainable Energy (ODE), the sector organization for sustainable energy, a hundred large and small companies risk bankruptcy due to the Flemish plans to cut 1.2 billion euros in green energy certificates paid to large investors. “If you take 1.2 billion euros out of the Flemish economy, you can expect that this will cause a chain reaction,” says Dirk Van Evercooren, general manager of ODE. “’Pay me back four times my investment or I will go bankrupt’ is a threat that I only pass,” responds Flemish energy minister Zuhal Demir (N-VA).
