The 16-year-old boy suspected of stabbing 14-year-old Dani to death outside the Oscar Romero high school in Hoorn in October must remain in custody for longer. His lawyer Thijs Kapinga informed WEEFF/NH Nieuws of this.
The interim session was held yesterday, in which it will be determined whether there is still enough reason to detain the suspect longer. His lawyer says he remains in custody. According to him, the aim is that the substance of the case will be dealt with at the next hearing.
On Wednesday, October 26, an argument in front of the schoolyard of Oscar Romero secondary school in Hoorn resulted in a stabbing. Dani, a 14-year-old student from Westwoud, died of his injuries a few days later. Shortly after the stabbing, a 16-year-old boy from Hoorn was arrested.
Dani’s death brought about a lot. A sea of flowers arose at the site of the fatal stabbing a day after Dani’s death. There is one in Hoorn silent march held, in memory of Dani and against senseless violence.
