Finnish national football team player Glen Kamara was the target of possibly racist behavior during Monday’s Nations League match against Montenegro.
Football Association announced about it at night. According to the release, UEFA has started an investigation into the matter.
– Neither the Finnish Football Association nor the Finnish team will comment on the matter for the time being. We will find out more information, states the release.
There were already speculations about inappropriate behavior during the game, when Kamara seemed unusually nervous on the field. Kamara was taken away from the situation at the end of the match.
– Unfortunately, the situation seemed as if something like this had happened again. Glen targeted again, support him, commented a fan on Huuhkajie’s official account tweet on the subject.
Kamara has been a victim of racist behavior on the field before, such as in a match against his club team Glasgow Rangers. Iltalehti reported on a previous case last year.
