The raid on a home and a business at the Saffraan in Klazienaveen yesterday was related to the suspicion of false payroll administration. This was reported by a spokesperson for the Functional Public Prosecutor’s Office, part of the Public Prosecution Service.
The Labor Inspectorate and the FIOD – the investigative service of the Tax Authorities – were involved in the raid. Photos showed, among other things, armed people wearing balaclavas from the FIOD. Cars, among other things, were also seized during the raid.
The Public Prosecution Service will now conduct further investigation. That could take several months.
