Suspension and hefty fine for Alexander Zverev for misconduct | Sport

That punishment from the tennis association ATP comes on top of the fine of 35,000 euros that the number 3 in the world had already been imposed for his misconduct at the end of February at the tennis tournament in Acapulco, Mexico.

Zverev misbehaved after a lost doubles match. After the final run, he hit the umpire’s chair several times with his racket, while aggressively addressing the umpire. Although he extensively expressed his regret after the incident, he could not avoid the severe sanctions.

The probationary period is 12 months. It means that if the Olympic champion misbehaves again in the coming year, the eight-week suspension will start.
