Suspended prison sentence for Sheffield fan who mocked deceased boy | Foreign football

A Sheffield Wednesday supporter has been given a suspended prison sentence for… mocked a dead boy that was a Sunderland fan. Dale Houghton showed a photo of the boy in September to provoke Sunderland fans in the stands. The judge called the action ‘appalling and disgraceful’.

In addition to the conditional prison sentence of twelve weeks, the 32-year-old man will also receive two hundred hours of community service. Houghton’s action caused a lot of commotion. The moment he showed the photo on his phone he laughed broadly.

Bradley Lowery was 6 years old when he died in 2017 from a rare form of cancer. The boy was a big Sunderland fan and walked onto the field several times with players from his favorite club. The boy became a figurehead for many supporters of the English club.
