Suspects Oss shootings also accused of possession of weapons and money laundering

One of the two men from Veghel who were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly being involved in several shootings in Oss is also accused of laundering a large amount of money. It concerns the 25-year-old man. Like his 22-year-old accomplice, he is also suspected of possession of weapons. This was sufficient reason for the court in Den Bosch to decide on Friday afternoon that the two will remain in detention for at least another two weeks.

The oldest suspect, 25, had one weapon on him; at his size of 22, two were found. Their possible role in the shootings was not yet assessed by the judge this Friday.

The pair were arrested Wednesday afternoon. Dozens of curious people saw how heavily armed arrest teams invaded two houses on Hoofdstraat and Van Speijkstraat in Veghel. “The entire house was surrounded,” a witness said of one of the raids. One of the suspects was taken from his home in his underpants and blindfolded.

Several local residents were very surprised that the arrest team had just raided one of those houses. According to local residents, a nice and quiet family lives there. One of their sons, who no longer live at home, is said to have stayed in the house during the raid and was eventually removed.
