More than six months after the arson in the home of the Heerlen family Quaedackers, known from the NPO program Een Huis Vol, it is still not clear who was responsible for this. Mother Nadine and ex-boyfriend Kevin G. point to each other as perpetrators.
This became apparent on Wednesday in the court of Maastricht during a so-called pro forma hearing.
‘I didn’t want this’
A House VolMother Nadine (43) told the court that she was forced to participate by her then-boyfriend, 35-year-old Kevin. “He threatened to kill me. I didn’t want this. What should I have done?”

Been to a home
Kevin has just stated that Nadine is the culprit. “My client got carried away,” said his lawyer Bo Maenen. Both suspects have confessed that they were in the house on Van Rappardstraat in Heerlen on December 1 last year. Jerry cans have also been found. A witness told police that they both started the fire in the house, which was no longer occupied at the time. However, there were still many belongings of the family in the house.
Earlier free
The duo remains trapped. Once the probation report has been received, Nadine may be released earlier pending the substantive hearing of the criminal case. “The importance of the children is great. They don’t know where they stand now. And the longer this lasts, the smaller the chance that they can return home,” said Solange Poelman, Nadine’s lawyer. The substantive treatment is scheduled for August or September.
