The suspect was arrested on Sunday at the request of the Dutch authorities at Düsseldorf airport. The man is currently detained in Germany and will later be extradited to the Dutch police.
The police found the body of the 48-year-old man in a house on Kloosterstraat in Beverwijk (North Holland) on Saturday. The police knew the identity of the suspect, a 47-year-old inhabitant of the building, who had fled after the stabbing incident.
Another suspect, a 51-year-old man from Beverwijk, was arrested on Saturday. He was released after questioning, but is still a suspect in the case.
