Suspect shared photos of guns shortly before Texas elementary school shooting | Abroad

Ramos is said to have first shot his grandmother, after which he drove away with his pickup truck and crashed near the primary school. Armed and wearing a bulletproof vest, he approached the school. He couldn’t be stopped by the school’s agent at the entrance, and he shot students in several classrooms. Until he was eventually taken out by the police.

The teenager had his grandmother’s address as his official residence on his driver’s license. He would have lived in Uvalde and went to school. He worked five days a week during the day at the local Wendy’s fast food restaurant, where he had little social contact, according to a colleague, and he was mostly quiet.

A former classmate of Ramos tells American media that the eighteen-year-old sent him photos of a rifle and ammunition shortly before the shooting. He hasn’t spoken much to Ramos since he graduated, but he still occasionally texted him asking to play Xbox together. “And four days ago he sent me a photo of the AR (a rifle, ed.) he was using and a backpack full of 5.56 rounds, probably about seven magazines. I said something like ‘bro, why do you have this?’ and he: ‘don’t worry about it’.”

Ramos then texted: “I look very different now. You wouldn’t recognize me.” According to the friend, Ramos was teased about his clothes and his family’s financial situation, and was seen less and less in class until he barely came to school.

Social media

Screenshots of an Instagram profile believed to belong to Ramos are circulating online, where he allegedly posted a photo of two guns and a selfie three days ago, and asked another user to share images of the weapons. He also said he was “about” and wanted to tell “a little secret.”

Meta, the parent company of Instagram and Facebook, reports that it has removed the profile and is in contact with the police. Several classmates confirmed that the profile belonged to Ramos, according to CNN.

On TikTok, he only had an image of a video game, and with his profile picture the description “children are afraid in real life”.
