For the first time, a suspect in the murder of Peter R. de Vries tells why the crime journalist was murdered. According to an intercepted telephone conversation, One today that the involvement of De Vries in the liquidation process of Marengo was the reason.

It concerns Christopher W. (27), who in the spring of 2021 would have been ordered to murder Peter R. de Vries, along with two other men. De Vries was eventually shot on July 6, 2021. That day W. called his girlfriend.

He tells him that the crime reporter has been shot. “Nice for him”, responded W. His girlfriend reacted furiously. W. then said that Peter R. de Vries ‘put his nose in everywhere he shouldn’t, that’s why they shot him’.

According to the detectives, intercepted voice messages and tapped telephone conversations between the men show that these three suspects ‘lodged’ in May and June with the execution of the murder of Peter R. de Vries. Sources who know the police file on the assassination attempt have independently confirmed this.

Christopher W. is one of the five suspects in the criminal investigation ’26Hendon’ of the National Public Prosecution Service (OM), into the clients of the liquidation of the most famous Dutch crime reporter.
