A suspected perfume thief who allegedly stole hundreds of euros worth of luxury perfumes can await the remainder of the case at home.
In November, perfumes were taken from a perfumery on Mercuriusplein in Assen without paying for them. The police shared camera images showing a man and a woman suspected of the theft. The man came forward and the search for the woman continued.
The man is a 41-year-old Amersfoort. Today he was interrogated and officially arrested, but he was also allowed to leave immediately after the report had been drawn up.
The police do not want to say who the woman is in the images and whether she has now been found. In any case, she was not arrested. “We are no longer investigating the role of this woman.”
