On the Zuiderkanaalweg in Sprang-Capelle, strangers have discharged a suspicious liquid. An employee of the Brabantse Delta water board discovered the liquid on Friday morning. The stuff walked down the dike from above. The police and the water board investigate whether it is drug waste.
There are indications that similar activities have taken place at the same location, whereby drug waste was probably discharged. The police are investigating what kind of material it is and where the material comes from.
The fire brigade could not take measurements and offer no further support. How much liquid has been discharged is not clear.

The Brabantse Delta Water Board is investigating what measures are needed to limit further damage to nature and risks. They may have to cover or dig the ground, but no decision has been made about that.
The water board emphasizes that drug waste discharges pose serious risks for nature, water quality and public health. They work together with the services involved to get the situation under control.
