Frits D. has confessed to the stabbing murder in Driehuis. The 21-year-old suspect came to Driehuis with a knife and two or three others. He also stole items from the victim, which he gave to another suspect somewhere nearby shortly after the murder.
On Monday morning, September 11, a group of students saw from the field in front of Wolff and Dekenlaan how the suspect ran from the house. The 24-year-old resident then stumbled out of the house. He succumbed to one or more stab wounds in his chest.
It was talked about a so-called rip deal, where D. stole drugs from the victim. It was not clear today whether D. actually took drugs or other items.
The residents of Driehuis were shocked after the murder 200 people took part in the silent marcha few days after the terrible event.
Frits D. was not in court himself, but confessed to the murder. He told police he was defending himself. But the Public Prosecution Service does not believe him: “That is difficult to reconcile with the fact that he took a knife with him,” the public prosecutor said today.
It also turned out today that D. did not act alone in the murder and theft.

After D. fled from Wolff and Dekenlaan, he ran towards two or three other men. They were in a car, near the scene of the murder. One of them is also in custody and is seen as the perpetrator of the theft and possibly murder. Another was the driver. It remains unclear who the possible fourth suspect was.
Excited
The small courtroom was quite busy today, with about fifteen family members and friends in distress. Their lawyer spoke for the family, but could not say much because the investigation into the murder has not yet been completed.
The parties can reveal more at the next introductory hearing on February 5: the court has already set aside an hour for that hearing. By then the investigation will be completed. Suspect D. will also be there, his lawyer said.
