Suspect (18) arrested for stabbing at Hilversum secondary school

The police have arrested a suspect for the stabbing last Monday at the Hilversum secondary vocational education college. It concerns an 18-year-old Almeerder. He is still being questioned about his involvement in the stabbing.

Another student of the Hilversum school – a 16-year-old Amsterdammer – was injured in the leg as a result of the stabbing.

The suspect is said to be another student at the school. Video footage shows a student pulling a large knife from his back pocket and starting to stab the other student. The victim was soon out of danger.

Research continues

Although the school itself was soon able to link a name to the suspect, the boy was untraceable for a while. The police were finally able to arrest him last night, after ‘his identity was discovered through CCTV footage’. The suspect is still in custody and the investigation continues.
