The police have arrested a 16-year-old boy for the shooting in Schadewijkstraat in Oss two weeks ago. A 15-year-old boy was injured. The suspect reported himself to the police station in his hometown of Heerhugowaard.
The 16-year-old boy is suspected of attempted murder. On Saturday, October 14, he shot the victim in the back from his bicycle. The suspect had been on the run since then. Images of the shooting were therefore shared in the investigation program Opsporing Verzocht. As a result, 10 tips were received by the police.
The victim is a resident of the refugee shelter on Raadhuislaan in that city. He was seriously injured and was in hospital for a while. Detectives assume that the perpetrator did not know his victim at the time and shot randomly.
