Hottinen received a message from an acquaintance in the middle of the working day that a video of her in a bikini on the fitness stage is playing in the new Helsinki City Museum Sun bodi – The sweaty history of gyms in the exhibition.
The athlete was not informed in advance about using the video.
– I had just gone on a break at work. For a moment I just stared in wonder at the phone: I’m in a bikini on the screen on the wall of the museum. The whole setup was so absurd that I started laughing. A colleague was at the lockers and asked what now, Hottinen says.
– I went to pretend that I had ended up in a museum: that’s where the fossils belong.
Hottinen’s free program from the 2021 WC is on display in the museum. Hottinen competed in the Women’s physique series in 2019 and 2021. She won silver at the 2019 Finnish Championship and 2021 Nordic Games.
Hottinen is not sorry for using the video, but mainly amused and amazed.
– I forwarded the video clip to a couple of acquaintances, because it was comical. I was left wondering where and how the material got to the exhibition. The SC competitions and the stream were paid for by the public. Even the contestants themselves did not receive copies or recordings of their free programs, unless they separately paid for the stream.

Public service manager of the Helsinki City Museum Jari Harjun according to the museum received a nine-hour-long competition video from the Finnish Fitness Sports Association. There is a clip of about four minutes running in the exhibition.
– If material for the exhibition is obtained from partners, the party that provided the video will be asked if the video can be used in the exhibition. We are trying to find out who filmed the video, says Harju.
– The video in question featured several people. It would be a real chore to find out who all are in it. They haven’t been asked about it, he continues.
Chairman of the Finnish Fitness Sports Association KP Ourama was connecting the people of the city museum and the company that filmed the fitness competitions, Grassmark. According to Ourama, everything went as it should.
– These have happened before. The Games are a public event with hundreds of competitors. It would be difficult to ask everyone about it. We will inform you if the races are streamed, says Ourama.
Hottinen visited on Monday Sun body -show and saw a video of himself. He was able to discuss the matter with the exhibitor.
According to Hottinen, the exhibitor would have removed the video if he had wanted to.
– I’m very thankful. I very much appreciated the gesture on their part, that things went through in a good and warm way. I really felt seen, appreciated and heard after the visit, he praises.
