Survivorsthe plot of the third episode

In the first episode, Luca (Lino Guanciale) decides to go home. The second episode ended with the escape of him, after finding out the betrayal of his wife Sylvie (Stéfi Celma) with his trusted friend Stefano (Fausto Maria Sciarappa). The survivors actually liedas you think, or are they just very shaken by what they have experienced?

His is a concrete suspicion or just the result of an obsession stemming from death of his son Gabriele (Alessio Vassallo)? A short time has passed and no one can have metabolized the trauma. An alliance necessary to protect each other and avoid aftermath of any kind once back to earth. The question to be answered is: why? What happened so bad that it couldn’t be revealed? Meanwhile the relationship between Luca and Sylvie is at a standstill. Luca is shy and does not allow his wife to get close. The plays make the flop scream

Survivors is an international co-production led by Rai, together with France Télévisions and ZDF, respectively for France and Germany. This is a series that has seen a considerable deployment of forces, on which Rai has focused a lot. Despite the fine cast, the results obtained are not exciting.

The first episode got 3,623,000 viewers, equal to 19.6% share. A lukewarm debutwhich was followed by a decline the following week. The second episodein fact, it was followed by 2,572,000 viewers, with a 15.1% share. Numbers too low for Rai 1, in particular for the serieswhich represent the hard core of state television.

Just think of other titles, currently airing on the same network. An example above all, Mina September. The third episode of the series starring Serena Rossi, broadcast on Sunday 16 October, was followed by 4,570,000 spectators, equal to 25.5% share. Although on paper this is an interesting project, Survivors shows several weaknesses.

The weak points of Survivors

First of all, plot development. THE flashbacks, too present in each episode, are not enough to explain the background weave. In seriality it is customary not to reveal everything at the beginning of the story, in order to keep the viewer glued to the screen. However, the plot here takes too few steps forward.

After four episodes, the details about the story are still sparse and effort is required excessive to the viewer to keep in mind the small elements provided. An effort perhaps too great to avoid the diaspora of the television audience. Furthermore, it is a complex story, not perfectly in line with the Rai 1 proposal.

Experimenting is a must and necessary, but upsetting the narrative line of the network can cause some jolts, sometimes not appreciated by the public. To date, the numbers suggest that Survivors failed to attract public interest. The hope is that the third episode will gain pace and allow the series to recover in the race.
