The social leader Luis D’Elia conducted a survey on his Twitter account on the occasion of the resignation of the vice president Cristina Kirchner to any candidacy in the 2023 elections. Faced with the question “Which of these comrades would you choose as a candidate for President?”, the overwhelming victory took him Sergio Massawith 41.4% of the votes.
In contrast, the president Alberto Fernandez, for whom D’Elía has expressed his support on several occasions, was the big loser in the poll: only 16% of voters chose him as a possible candidate. The other ternados were the Argentine ambassador in Brazil, Daniel Scioli (eventual Dolphin of the president if he falls out of re-election) who got 21.4%, and the governor of Chaco, Jorge Capitanichwith 21.2%.
D’Elía had repeatedly expressed his alignment with Fernández, such as when he crossed no less than the national deputy maximum kirchner after he questioned the president during the closure on Congress of the Justicialista Party of the Province of Buenos Aires. “Máximo Kirchner’s big moves are to sabotage the electoral climate, making firecrackers all the time,” shot D’Elía in defense of the president, whose management he supported on several occasions.
The little sympathy that the leader of the Land, Housing and Habitat Federation saves by Massa. In fact, in 2021, before Massa became Economy Minister, D’Elía accused him of “hating Kirchnerism” in a tweet in which he also blamed him for having lost in the 2017 midterm elections. In addition, in said tweet he took the opportunity to shoot Máximo Kirchner. “The “partner” Sergio Massa lost in Tiger. Enough of ideological, political and power concessions to this guy who hates Kirchnerism. Let’s bury four meters underground the tactical and strategic agreements of Máximo Y Massa, ”D’Elía wrote at the time.
the apparent Cristina Kirchner’s resignation from the political arena Kirchnerism unleashes a logical rush to find a successor. While Alberto Fernández slips ambiguous statements about his possible candidacy: “”If it’s me, it will be me, and if it’s someone else, I’ll support him with delight”. Cristina Kirchner’s surrender to any candidacy for 2023 was one of the milestones triggered by from having received the sentence to 6 years in prison for the Road Cause.
“On December 10, 2023, I will no longer have privileges, so they will be able to give the order to put me in jail. Yes, prey, but never a pet. I will not be a candidate for anything, neither for president, nor for senator, my name will not be on any ballot. I finish on December 10 and I go back to my house, the same one from which I left on May 25, 2003 to accompany whoever was my partner”, the vice president declared vehemently minutes after the sentence became known.
