An online survey by the Putten VVD about Sunday shopping in the municipality turned out differently than the party had expected. Within a day the reactions poured in and an overwhelming majority voted against Sunday opening. According to VVD councilor Jorrit Heinen, the vote has been ‘hijacked’ by churchgoers. They would have called on each other in app groups to vote against.
