Just before the end of the competition, SEW still prematurely bids farewell to coach Arthur Langedijk. The 55-year-old coach would leave the club from Nibbixwoud after three years after the season.
In the press release, in which the club announces the decision to the world, there is no reason why the expiring contract will be torn up sooner. The club does say that after the loss at Venlo (36-22) and yesterday’s defeat against Quintus (29-37), the ‘chance is small that the national championship is still in it’.
SEW is currently last in the championship group with one point. The West Frisians can still qualify for the European Cup.
Trainers Rik Boonkamp, Jeroen Smits and Theo Bakker will be together for the rest of the season for the group at SEW.
