One of the contestants of the Squid Game: Challenge series reveals that the condoms offered to the players had already run out a few days after filming began.
Squid Game: Challenge -reality series started on the streaming service Netflix in November.
The series is based on the highly popular South Korean released in 2021 Squid Game series. In the reality version, players compete in familiar challenges from the original series for a chance to win a cash prize of 4.56 million dollars (around 4.2 million euros).
Like the original series, the contestants are numbered and stay in a dormitory for the duration of the game. The series was filmed in an aircraft hangar in Bedfordshire, England.
Now one of the competitors in the series, competing with number 301 Trey Plutnickihas told the American for EW magazine about their experiences in production. Among other things, Plutnicki revealed that some of the contestants in the series used the condoms offered to the participants to moisten their lips, because lip balm was not available at first.

“The condoms were gone”
According to EW, when the players arrived at the dormitory, they received a bag of hygiene items, which included, among other things, a toothbrush, toothpaste and hand sanitizer. Shared toiletries were also available in shared bathrooms, including condoms.
However, lip balm was not available to the players at first, which is why some of the competitors started to unwrap the provided condoms and use their lubricant as lip balm already a few days after the game started.
According to Plutnick, the experiment was “stupid” and the man himself did not use condoms to moisten his lips.
– Within a day, maybe a day and a half, all the condoms were gone, he said.
According to Plutnick, the situation was “absurd” because the other contestants “kept trying it even though it didn’t work”.
Later, the producers of the series gave the players individual cans of lip balm.
Plutnicki said she regrets not eventually keeping her lip balm as a memento of being on the series.
The season finale of the Squid Game: Challenge series will be released this coming Wednesday on Netflix.
