Riejanne Markus was unable to extend her national title on the road. Demi Vollering crossed the finish line first over the hilly course in South Limburg. The most striking cyclist at the start was the three-time Olympic skating champion Irene Schouten.
Earlier this week, Riejanne Markus took the win at the NK time trial. The cyclist from the neighborhood of De Zwarte Kat near Amstelveen then won with force majeure. For example, the difference with Demi Vollering was 55 seconds. Now the roles were reversed. Markus crossed the finish line in eleventh place.

Irene Schouten also did not compete for the prizes. The skater from Hoogkarspel said in advance that she especially enjoyed participating. In 2019, Schouten was already at the start of the Dutch National Championships for professionals. Then she was second behind the leading group in the sprint of the peloton. That earned her seventeenth place. This time she finished in 27th place.
